Heroine Shikkaku + Rants

Have you ever been in this kind of situation? Emotionless. Sparkless.

Or maybe a similar kind that left you wondering what the fvck happened just then? That desperation of wanting every minuscule second of that moment to disappear right from your memory and from everyone else's. And in the end, when you realize you had nothing to gain out of that relationship other than sad, bitter, endless drama, then you're pretty much ruined for life.

That, my friend, is an example of a disastrous relationship beyond the point of redemption.

Everything started out with a simple conversation through chat/text. You may be wondering why I left out the actual  "person-to-person"  conversation. No, we don't live in separate continents. And yes, we weren't friends to begin with. Peer pressure, as what professionals call it, was the root cause of the pair up. At a certain point, you even get worked up from composing a simple text message.

To make the story short, after that small talk, all hell broke loose.

/* Insert major drama here. */

Wore this anguished expression for a couple of months.

And BOOM!

And just when you thought you're finally free to relax and take a breather 'cause it ended AND was pretty clear from your expression that you didn't want to be related in any way possible to that person again, your friends (as true as they may be) couldn't quite plant in their heads that their constant teasing ruins your mood the instant those words come out of their mouths.

My dear friends...

Please stop before I file a restraining order. Thanks.

Yours,

Ms. Finally-had-enough

My top picks to play Mr. Grey

I've been reading through dozens of articles on who should  play Christian Greymale protagonist of the Fifty Shades trilogyand I gotta say some of them were pretty far fetched considering Christian's age to be 27 and all (they even included Leonardo DiCaprio & Hugh Jackman!!). To give you a background on Mr. Grey, he is CEO at Grey Enterprises Holdings and is "young, handsome, intelligent, business-savvy, and charming, he at first glance appears to be a suave but private business mogul with an irresistible allure." So I've narrowed it down to these four extremely good-looking men as my top picks for the role of Christian. Tell me what you think~

Which actor should play Christian Grey?

Ian Somerhalder

Nationality: American
DOB: December 8, 1978 (Age: 33)

Fifty Shades of Fucked-up indeed!

Before anything else, I should warn you that I'm not a fan of erotic novels most especially those that involve BDSM. This is the first time I've tried reading such a novel and fans be warned, what I'm about to say from hereon might burst your bubble.

I actually gave up the thought of reading Fifty Shades after reading dozens of bad reviews on Amazon and Goodreads but finally succumbed to the idea after being told that I was going to love Christian Greythe ever mercurial, control freak, palm twitching, ridiculously rich, handsome, and sexy as hell CEO of Grey Enterprises Holdings Inc. There are a lot more adjectives to describe Mr. Grey but I don't wanna bore you because the list could go on forever!

With all the hype surrounding this book (even saw it on E! News), I opted to give it a try and much to my disappointment, I barely managed to finish it 'cause it sucked BIG time. I expected a whole lot of story but what I got was insatiable young adults wanting fornication and kinky fuckery on every pagewell, mostly, but you get the picture. It left me wondering whether every erotic novel is written like this and at some point, I wanted to put down the book and move on to reading A.N. Roquelaure's (also known as Anne Rice) Sleeping Beauty just to make a comparison.

I don't know how my friend managed to skip the sex scenes in the book and concentrate mainly on the story because I seriously don't know what she'll be left reading. I even lose count of the number of times they DID the act and boredom hits you in the face after reading a few chapters. I mean, I agree with what one reviewer wrote that if you took out the parts where the female character Anastasia Steele is biting or chewing her lip, the book will be down to 50 pages! I wanted to smack my head every time she does this which for some reason turns her partner on or when Christian cocks his head to one side on and on and on again. And don't get me started every time Ana refers to her "inner goddess" and "subconscious". I might suffer a head injury if I ever hear those words again. >.<

I was experiencing a slight case of déjà vu as I was reading through the pages of the book. Not that surprising since the novels were inspired by Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. Turn Edward the vampire, a character from fantasy into a reality and you get Christian Grey with twisted problems of his own. Anastasia, on the other hand, is so much like Bellabrunette, virgin, insecure about her looks and questioning whether she deserves the god-like creature or not. I'd much rather re-read the whole Twilight novels than go back to this poor excuse of a novel. It's fan fiction for crying out loud.

Oh, and one last thing. Since Universal Pictures and Focus Features picked up the film rights to this trilogy, I sure do hope they reconsider and try to fit the whole series into one movie. But what the hell! Satan's gonna poke my eyes with his trident repeatedly if I even try to catch a glimpse of the whole kinky fuckery in the big screen. Might as well make a pass. Unless, of course, if I dig the actor. ;)

This is exactly the image I had in mind of Christian Grey (courtesy of one reviewer from goodreads.com):

The last picture still haunts me every time I picture out Christian. God bless his soul.

Reading spree~

Having a lot of free time on my handswith over a month until I officially start with work—, I found myself reading nonstop, book after book since last week. I admit I'm a big fan Sidney Sheldon's works which might have affected my taste towards any other book non-Sheldon. So this past week I finally gave others a chance to enter my reading list and I must say I'm thoroughly entertained.

Deviating from the typical crime fiction, thriller genre Sheldon brings in his novels, I suddenly had the urge to read "chick lit"books which are written by women for womenspecifically those that involve sassy gals and gorgeous guys in the contemporary world with a dash of sarcasm and romance here and there. They're the type of reads which are lighthearted, humorous and make you feel good.

I started with my reading spree of chick literature after grabbing a copy of Abi Aquino's Drama Queen straight from eBay. It was one of those spur-of-the-moment decisions where I just had to click the "Buy It Now" button given that, one, it was my first time purchasing something from eBay and two, the book only costs 40 pesos plus 80 pesos for shipping! I'm impressed with how easy it was to simply pay through bank deposit and track your shipment online. Technology sure can do wonders~

So, without further ado, I present to you the list of books (grouped by Author) which I've read and will be reading over the course of summer.

Blue Screen of Death

You might be wondering why I'm writing a another blog now when the exams (refer to previous post) hasn't even started/ended yet. You see, I've been plagued with these terrible and unfortunate cases of BSoD (AKA Blue Screen of Death). Every computer at our house has encountered this error message within the month of April. Oh, the HORROR!!~

PC 1. nv4_disp.dll

PC 2. atikmdag.sys

Laptop. Physical memory dump
(Did anyone else notice the "Contact your system administrator, your technical support group or Bill Gates..." there?)

Since I'm the IT gal at our house, who you gonna call, ayt? Ugh. >.< And this is where my good old friend Google comes in. He never fails to provide solutions but not a single thing was resolved. Help, anyone?

Author's notes:
The Blue Screen of Death (also known as BSoD or Blue Screen), known officially as a Stop Error or a bug check, is the error screen displayed by theMicrosoft Windows family of operating systems upon encountering a critical error, of a non-recoverable nature, that causes the system to crash. The term is named after the color of the screen generated by the error. In Unix-based operating systems, a similar term is kernel panic.

First!

Hurrah~ I've finally created my own blog! After 20 years of existence, why now you ask? HAHA. I don't even know myself. I guess my laziness got the better of me. Or maybe I'm just afraid of people reading into my thoughts. But then again, maybe I'm just afraid that no one will even care if I start posting one or not. Well, who cares, right!?

I said to myself a few days ago to write a blog about anime. But time is my biggest enemy now since I only got 6 days to go 'til the PhilNITS examination. I hope I pass this time around after failing the previous one. Believe it or not, I did certain measures to keep myself from doing unnecessary things aside from studying. Yet, why am I even writing this blog? Oh dear Lord, draw me away from temptation. >.<

Having said that, I guess I better start reviewing before I fail again. And I promise to write another blog after the exams. 'Til then! Au revoir~

The road to becoming a Software Engineer starts now!
